Welcome to the Family Blog

Spent the day watching General Conference and eating our traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings. Everyone here but Michael and family and Brady. Nick and Rachel and kids stayed the day and into evening since there is no school tomorrow. When time to go, Rachel said, "Okay, let's go guys." Siris quickly got up, ducked his head and made a quick dash towards the back bedroom, trying to avoid having to go home. Smart dog--speaks English pretty well!

The little girls practiced their gymnastics and had fun being thrown onto the Lovesac by Grandpa. The boys played a gentle game of racketball in my kitchen (at least they told me it had been gentle)--no apparent damage.

Ryan and I went out and tended to the horses' yearly de-worming. The horses were a little fat coming out of winter last year. This year I fed them less--and they are a little thin. One of these years we'll get it right. I'll have to throw down a bunch in the next few weeks to fatten them up.

Yesterday Nick, Rachel and family and Ryan and I went to see Taiya compete in a gymnastics meet. She is doing some difficult things. Her team took 1st place.

Shanda and Dallin went to Antelope Island with Calypso and Custer riding all day. The report was that the day was great, and our horses impressed everyone there. We do have some good horses now.

Last Sunday we started our family weight loss contest. Dan's dad weighed us in at USU and got our body fat composition. The first week for me, personally, has been a bust. But there is always tomorrow!

Friday night our 1st team in C league hockey played an 8:30 game. They won in a shootout, with Shanda scoring the first overtime goal. It was beautiful. She went right, then left, and when the goalie went down, she just slowly scooted it past him on his left. One guy took her out, and two teammates came to her defense. One was thrown out for the next game, one got a timeout in the box for calling the guy a "fatty." Shanda had a phenomenal game. Shanda, Dad, Dan and his brother Mo and Crazy Cuz are a few of the teammates on this team, with Dallin as their goalie.

Saturday night our 2nd team in C league hockey played an 8:30 game. They lost, but had to play most of the first period without a keeper, so they were 2 down starting the 2nd period. Brooks scored a nice goal. Brooks and Greg play on this team.
